A little about me
I've always been a dreamer with the aspiration to create art for a living. I initially chose to pursue a career in the restaurant industry because that felt like the safer option. After relocating from Indiana to Florida in 2019, my passion for drawing was reignited when I drew my dog, Griffin. This experience made me realize that creating pet portraits could be my path to making art my profession. For the past six years, I've dedicated myself to growing my portfolio and art business.
My process
I use a variety of traditional lead pencils and mechanical pencils. I do tend to lean toward my mechanical pencils more than anything though. In order to achieve the blacks in my work, I use a piece of 6B graphite and sand it down. I then use a makeup sponge to apply it to the paper. I have dubbed Arches Hot Press Watercolor paper to be the best! It is a gorgeous archival cotton paper from France. I use this paper for my portraits and original artworks.
